Northern Seoul


From here I was trying to overlook an aging Hanok neighbourhood. The red and blue surfaces along the lower frame are part of it.

Unlike my previous visit five years ago, there is abandonment higher uphill.

But first, this is how it looks downhill, with metal shutters in front of an old building.


Here's a view from a nearby rooftop, showing some of the more modern abandonments. Yes, the yard in the left I eventually did get into, and there are interesting stories from there.

Here's a Saimdang daycare.

Lots of heavy highrise construction next door.

Note that I said lots.

This small grouping of older housing in teh shadow of redevelopment has caught my eye.
