RAS Korea Essay Contest
I noticed a small protest in front of Namdaemun Police Station, and cops all around. I had no idea the size of the protest that was coming.
Meanwhile, at the RAS Korea office.
Steve handed out the awards to the three top winners.
And a paperweight I didn't get a look at.
She was from Busan and wrote my favourite of the three finalist essays.
She was in the lowest grade, but it turned out the student from Busan was younger, just ahead a grade.
Here's Steve with the three essayists, and on the right is Kim Ji-myeong, founder of K-Heritage and a Korea Times columnist who was originally a reporter, I think back in the 1970s.
