Baeksa Village

I started off by visiting the northernmost lobe of the village, where the murals are a little more prominent.

And there are plenty of churches.

Rough landscape.

This was just a yard that seemed to be used for farming.

Seems symbolic.

Two roads.

I liked the flower growing through the posted notice.

Fairly classic tires on roofs.

There were quite a lot of port-a-potties around.

I looked inside one abandoned house and saw what could have been left by a squatter.

Tiny door.

Another tiny door.

Weird-shaped room.

Slightly more modern facilities.

I headed uphill to the middle lobe.

I like this one because it's basically a valley.

Gotta fly flags to show you're not anti-state or something.

Nie big welfare center.

I was looking for places where you could view the contrast between old and new.

This appeared to be a real estate office.

The roof of this house seemed to somewhat contour to Buram Mountain in the background.

An abandoned rascal.

A warning that buildings could actually collapse. Seeing them for myself, somewhat believeable.

Another look at the real estate office.

Some overviews of the uppermost part of the middle lobe.

Here's a slightly more classic old-vs-new photo.

Kind of odd-looking mural.

A robot with a mailbox head.

Welcome to Smurfs.

Is that a ghost?

I found this cat in rough shape.

This cat seemed to be communicating with that cat.

I thought about going to find cat food and water, but within a few minutes, a car parked in the lot to the right, and a woman came out and started feeding the cats.

Looks better cropped more tightly.

But here's the real view.

Whatever this structure was, it was dusted with sansuyu petals.

This was one of the friendlier cats.

Very nice eye colour.

After I said goodbye to the woman feeding cats, I met this cat further downhill, and stopped to offer some cat food. This one was a little more skittish about accepting.

Not a good picture, but I was hoping to create an effect I might use in the zine.

Butt goats and a city view.

Here's a map of the area. You can kind of see what I mean about the three lobes, witht he first one being horizontal at the top, the second one being what looks like a noose and a one-legged stickman in the lower right, and the third one being the road parallel to the larger road on the left. I was on a ridge between 2 and 3.

Oddly specific circle by a hired goon.

The only magnolias I encountered.

Tarp.

Another alright view, as the sunlight was fading.

A narrow alley.

A cat runs away.

Front steps, with a ramp up the middle.

Overdue bills.

Back here again.

A view of lobe 2.

And looking the other way toward the city.

A bright green gate.

Was this room crooked or am I just a mediocre photographer?

Cuckoo clock.

July 2019.

Wallpaper.

I looked in this room, saw the fridge, took this picture, and noped out.

You can see as the sun sets, the light is changing.
