Drive

There's the mall. A shooting had taken place outside the Imax theater two days earlier.

I used to live here during junior high.

At the end of the road, the mall towered over the neighbourhood.

I stopped by the field near my former home.

The mall still has an imposing presence, and now there's a motel even closer.

The sidwalk ends but the path keeps going.

I liked the architecture of this neighbourhood. The houses were all different colours and seemed more expressive than other areas. This one is giving me side eye.

My previous house used to back onto this alley.

Seen from slightly further down the road. That tree which I have no memory o really blocked the view.

Some of the houses around here look angry.

Across the street in Terra Losa, I visited this reservoir or whatever, which I think had formed naturally but was landscaped.

I recall when the buildings on the left or right were under construction, we would visit them and hide from workers. While sitting on top of one of them, probably the taller one on the right, I watched as a rain rolled in, advancing up the lake toward us.

I went to Arby's, and it surpassed my expectations.

I stopped by Freecloud.

The Emeralds, responsible for the Bird Dance.

Downtown, I drove by this area, where last year I'd seen roads closed. But it appeared that wasn't due to urban decay or renovation, but "The Last of Us" filming.

Still not that active.

There was a Pride Fest coming soon.

Just to piss off Alberta conservatives.

I found an abandoned hotel.

A jump over that fence and it would probably be alright to check doors. But there were too many homeless tents around the area.

The shooting happened around here.

So yeah, this sign became pretty disturbingly ironic pretty fast.
