Peace Corps Revisit Farewell Dinner

The first picture I got was of the KF vice president wrestling with the mic. He was nervous after coming on stage prematurely earlier.

He had good comments and spoke English well, so nobody minded that awkwardness. If anything it made him more human.

Here's a look at the crowd to my right.

And to my left.

Suzanne gave a tearful address.

Christy gave a toast.

Then there was a choral performance by these very skilled Korean guys.

I had been seated next to this guy, Donald, for the dinner. He couldn't have tried harder to look like the guy from Up, but anyway I don't recall that guy singing popular Korean folk songs.

For his second song, he needed lyric help so the KF people gave a helping hand.

Next was Kenneth, who was a bit more of a showman. He'd introduced himself to me at the opening dinner a week earlier, and we'll see if he's one of the volunteers to follow up with an article.

Bow and Ann were the two volunteers who stood out the most to me. They had done a very unique posting, at a mixed-race orphanage in the early 1980s, and had submitted a bunch of written statements which I became privy to. KF possibly leaked those files to me. I worked carefully to make sure they were compliant with any data sharing, and it turned out they were both fun, nice people who wanted their story told.

Here's a group photo. There were a few people missing though.
