20250101River Valley It started to get cold at the end of my visit, so on a day that reached -17, I took the car for a drive and visited my home from when I was a teenager, which includes some ravines and the River Valley. |

20241231New Year's Eve I didn't do much for New Year's Eve, just stayed home. Somehow I was able to stay awake until midnight, probably the only time I did so during the whole trip. |

20241231Jasper in the Morning There was more snow on the ground when we woke up, so we revisited the fire site in the town. Also as we were leaving, we went by Maligne Canyon, where the fire had wiped out pretty well all the trees. |

20241231Jasper After looking at the disaster site, we got a few drinks and went to the only Korean restaurant in Jasper. |

20241231Journey to Jasper We drove four hours west to Jasper, to see the damage after part of the town was burned down by a forest fire last summer. |
