Gangchon
We went on a ski trip for the long weekend on Saturday and Sunday. I don't want to take much attention away from the kitty pictures below, so I won't write much here.

Millie's New Home
It's the long weekend so we had our first three-day weekend since sometime like October. We went skiing on Saturday and came back on Sunday for dinner with Jung's parents. Those pictures will be up here next.

We went to Samia's place to pick up our new kitten and bring her back to our place. She was a little hesitant to go, but she was very calm most of the way to our place. Cookie Monster/Murphy wanted to go with us too, and even jumped in the bag we brought to carry Millie in (which we didn't use). It's still likely we'll adopt him in a month, when Samia gets back from her college auditions in the US. That'll be in a month.

I also uploaded two video files that you can probably download for the next week: her first meal and playing.

Chungmuro
On Sunday we went shopping for some of the things we need for our kitten. Our trip took us first to Chungmuro, and then to Dongdaemoon, although we didn't really have anything to buy there. Next stop was an Indian restaurant in Itaewon, followed by a wine bar, and finally Samia's place to see our kitten, still unnamed.

It's heartbreaking visiting these places, partly because all the animals are so cute, but also partly because of the conditions some of them are kept in. We saw a dog in a cage outside a store, shivering in the cold. I can only assume he's sick and they don't want him infecting the others, or it's a punishment, but it's an awful thing to do. In Dongdaemoon they keep more animals outside, but they're all together and can rely on each other for heat.

Democracy
At work I got a phone call from a Korean guy who didn't speak English. I was able to ascertain that he was asking about my address, so I passed him along to Jung. It turned out he was delivering my election ballot. The election is on Monday and I really doubt I'll make the deadline. Maybe I wasn't reading it right, but it seems my ballot had quite a journey across the world.

When I looked through all the forms, something was queer. Let's see if you can spot it.

Also, I'm going to post a link to Cute Overload so you can take your mind off politics and think about cute animals.

Coming Home (from skiing)
The CD I burned didn't work properly, so I had to upload some of the photos over again. There are just a few from the bus trip home.

Bears Town Resort
We went skiing on Sunday. Our original plan was to go with Jung's sister to Yongpyong, which is one of the nicer resorts, but it was Jung's first time and she wasn't so confident. It took her about two hours to learn enough to stay on her feet.

The lines were very decent at this hill, far better than at Jisan when I went there. At most I waited 15 minutes in line, and when we went to some of the more difficult lifts, it was always less than five minutes. Much more than I was expecting. Plus, considering it had rained two days previous, the snow condition was quite good.

I tried taking a panorama of the hill from the top of the high-speed quad chair. There are a few little problems with it, and I didn't get the chairlift very well, but it sort of worked.

Crossword

There are three components you may download:
-the puzzle and clues
-just the puzzle
-the clues in an easier to read .txt file

The story behind this puzzle, if you don't recall, is that I saw Amber trying to do a crossword in the Herald Tribune, and I figured I could make one that was easier to solve, used fewer freaky crossword terms, and contained the word "bukkake." There are a few words in here that I'm not happy about using, but I was working without any of my usual resources. I could've done it in half the time and avoided words like "ewe" and "NiN" if I had Internet access for one minute. But I guess Suck Stuff recording songs was more important. I don't know; you be the judge.

Kitten cyber-sex
Somebody on Indecline showed my kitten pictures to her kitten. It looks like he likes her. Here's a second picture.

Kitten
Samia has begun giving the kittens away so we had to choose quickly. This is the one we'll be adopting. We had an idea for a name, but it was more suitable for a boy than a girl, so we need to keep thinking. It's possible we'll still adopt Cookie Monster, but first Jung needs to see what it's like living with a cat.

The move-in date will be at the end of the month.

Poidong
I took an extra long lunch break today (from 11:45 to about 5:00) for these pictures. That's counting editing time, while multitasking my other important duties.

I had to step out to photocopy my passport in order to apply to vote in the election. Since our office photocopier made me look like a terrorist, I wanted a more professional one. Then it was off to the post office, and Subway for lunch. I took the scenic route.
