Fun with Millie
Millie decided to show off some of her favourite things: the yo-yo, the bag, the windowsill, the CD case, and much more.
In two weeks we're getting a second cat. We've decided to go with the yellow one. Our main reasoning is that because he's male, he'll fit in with Millie better. I want to name him Steve French, but I don't think Jung will like that name.

Catnip
It looks like the links to this page were accidentally deleted from my site. Anyway, watch Millie eat catnip and pass out.

Final Day
There was a lot of rain today. I'm sitting at work and my shoes and socks have almost dried out enough for me to wear them again.
Greg and River came to the area where I work a little after 12. We put some of their bags in a locker and went out for lunch. After, we went back and got the bags out of the locker and went to the shuttle bus stop. It was leaving just as we arrived, so I flagged it down. The driver was impatient, so I had a quick goodbye with Greg and River. They got on the bus and it left. As I was walking away, I suddenly realised I still had Greg's laptop. I hollered "Shit!" and ran after the bus. It was stopped at the corner ahead, so I tried to chase it down. It left just before I got there, so I hopped in a taxi and tried to explain to the driver that I needed to catch that bus. Luckily when we went around the corner, the bus was pulled over, and Greg and River were getting off. I guess they realised they didn't have the bag. I handed it to them and they got back on.

Beth
Greg and River were contacted by Beth, who's been living in Taiwan for the last two and a half years. It turned out she was in Korea at the same time as them for a visa run. They met up together and then came to my apartment, where we ordered pizza, drank, and looked at pictures.

Itaewon
We didn't get many pictures of Itaewon, but I got a bunch in the subway station. We transferred at Hapjeong; they headed north to Sinchon and I headed south to Daelim. We had a race to see whose train would come first. For once in my life, I won.

Hwaseong Fortress
For only 6000 won, you can buy two bottles of peach champagne and one stupid walking pass so you can see around Hwaseong Fortress.

The Gregs
That's what Jung calls them. They arrived on time after a bit of drama with River's passport. I met them at the airport and took them to Sinchon where they'll be staying for the first few days. Greg seems very distracted by all the bright lights.

Old Camera
After over two years of sitting around, my old camera has finally been fixed. The only problem with it is that the battery hatch had fallen off, which turns out to be a common problem with that model. It cost 40 000 won to fix and now it works just like it used to. It's taken me a little while to get used to it, as there are a lot of subtle differences between this camera and my new one.
I thought about giving it to Jung as a gift but it's not user-friendly enough for her. She deserves a newer, easier to use camera. But for now it's good to have an extra camera around for either of us to use.

Camera Repair
My camera has been giving me some problems lately. On Sunday we took it to Yongsan to get it fixed. On the way out the door we decided to bring my old camera along too. I wanted to take pictures of the trip on the way there in case I'd have to give up the camera for a while. It turned out not to be necessary.

Millie's Day
While I was working on my computer, Millie came over and crawled up next to me. I put on some Scottish bagpipe mp3s and she curled up right next to the speakers and fell asleep. She sure does like bagpipes.

Subway Salads
I went to Subway yesterday and was kind of surprised by their new menu design. While waiting for them to take my order, I scanned the menu out of habit. Take a closer look at the picture and see if you can see a major typo.
The error seems to be in translating "crab" back into English from Korean. Here's
another place on the menu where they got it right, which makes it even stranger.
Normally I don't make fun of things like this, simply because it's not very respectful, but this one is right up there with the "Little Sisters of the Poop" sign Ammie found in Suwon a couple summers ago. That one was clearly a typo, whereas this one is more likely a case of a Korean saying, "B, P, what's the difference?"
Another one I found recently, which Joey doesn't seem to appreciate me pointing out, is The Stadnard Korean Dictionay. This is a dictionary; you'd think they'd know better. In this case it's a matter of integrity.

Millie Goes Home
We took Millie along with us so she could meet the new kittens and see her old family again. She of course didn't recognise any of them, and immediately got into a hissing match with her mom when we arrived. She hated all the cats and stayed hidden in Samia's room the whole time.
Jung spent some time bonding with the kittens and picked out two favourites.
