Week
Here are a few pictures from the week.

Sunday
Somehow I only got one picture on Sunday. Nels came over and I explained how the Korean language works. He already has a good grasp on what sounds the individual letters make. That means when we went out to see a movie he stopped at every sign to try and sound it out.

Two days later, he went to the DMZ and saw some of the important sights up there.

Dongdaemoon
Our trip to Dongdaemoon took us to three main parts. First we walked along Cheonggyechon, the stream that was made to beautify the area at the cost of tearing down a large amount of stores. Next we wandered to the pet district, and then we went to the grey market which is starting to be torn down from one side. I'm gonna miss that place.

My Neighbourhood
Nels came over to my place on Saturday afternoon and we played around with Buster. Then we left for Dongdaemoon.

Nels
Nels arrived early on Friday morning. I picked him up at the airport and took him to Hongdae, where he checked into a $15-a-day goshiwon. It's a small, cramped room with only a small bed and a TV, but it's not much smaller than his apartment bedroom back in New York. I had to go to work, and afterwards we met up for supper and some drinking and he met some of my friends.

Yatap
Just a few pictures around my work area, mostly candids.

Archives
I've uploaded a bunch of old photos that were erased when Indecline crashed. Now the archives are complete up to August 2005. There are a lot of interesting pictures, including a trip to Japan.

Stray Cat
We were out riding around on my scooter when Jung spotted a stray cat nearby. We got off the bike and approached from different sides. I thought my presence would scare it and it would run toward her. But as soon as the cat saw me, it meowed and came over to me. I called Jung back and we began petting the cat.

Thinking it was a runaway we carried it to the security guard booth, not 10 meters away. The security guard and the old woman talking to him both scoffed and said "What kind of person would have a cat for a pet?"

None of the vets were open so we took the cat somewhere safer and left some food. Having my scooter was helpful because I could ride over to the main street and check for vets, then go home and come back with food.

I noticed this cat, as well as being totally atypical of a stray, seemed to have a bulging stomach. Is it possible she's pregnant?

Millie and Buster
Just some standard cat pictures of Millie and Buster feeling lazy. I feel bad for Millie because yesterday I ran inside to get some things and stepped on her paw with my shoes on. She shrieked and I moved my foot, but it was my other foot that was the problem, so I made it even worse. She seems okay now I think.

Little Nagasaki
I wanted to try out the new scooter that I'd recently bought, so I went on a solo trip in the general area of home. My goal was to make it to one of two small mountains I'd seen from the subway near Sindaebang Station, but on the way there I passed something far more interesting.

My first thought on seeing this was that I'd gone back to Nagasaki. It's been a long time since I've come across one of these areas so I decided to have a look around.

Sunset
I got up onto the roof to take sunset pictures. Also a few of the area, including construction. Lately I've been a bit self-conscious that my candid photography skills aren't up to par anymore so I tried to take pictures with people in them.

Litterbox
We moved the litterbox to a new location. It was a big event for the cats, who still spend a lot of time sitting where it used to be and also watching the new one.

June 7 2007

Yatap
I did a bit of exploring in the new neighbourhood and found my way onto the rooftop of our building.

Moving
My boss decided to save money by moving down to Bundang and combining his office with his apartment. These are pictures from the moving day.
