Family Leaves
We had a big dinner on Friday night with Jung's parents, then my dad had a look at Jung's brother-in-law's guitar collection. Jung's mom drove us all to the airport on Saturday where we said bye to my family. Hopefully we'll all manage to visit them in Edmonton soon.

Busan Day 3
On Tuesday we didn't feel much like doing anything. We went downtown and walked around the fish market, which was just a big market with lots of fish. It wasn't too exciting. We also walked through a foreign district and ended up killing a few hours in a cafe, waiting for our train. The trip back was mercifully short.

Busan Day 2
On Monday we found the beach mostly deserted, as I'd expected. It was a relaxing day without many concerns. I lost my glasses in the water, but I needed new ones anyway and Annan and my mom ended up getting new glasses as well.

Busan
The twins took us to another beach area to get some drinks on Sunday night. This bridge spanned the harbour and was a pretty interesting sight.

Haeundae Beach
On our first day we had a look at the beach. I didn't want to swim so I just rolled up my pant legs and went in the water. This was my day for taking pictures so I could leave my camera in the hotel room the second day.

Trip to Busan
We took the KTX down to Busan. It was a pretty quick ride, and not too crowded. We had four seats together and then a single seat on the other side of the train. Annan opted to sit alone so she could study. Since there was enough room, we invited her to join us here.

Saturday
We didn't do much on Saturday to save our energy for the trip to Busan the next day. I took my scooter over to my family's hotel and also got a bunch of cat pictures. Buster has been spending a lot of time lying next to my bag with the strap around his shoulder, like he wants to be a photographer or something. Unfortunately I don't think he'll ever compare to this cat.

Seoul Grand Park Zoo
I had the day off on Thursday which ended up being a bit of a mess. After a late start and a long wait at the bank, we were an hour late to the zoo, where Paul and Yumi were supposed to meet us. They didn't wait around, and went into the zoo looking for us. Unfortunately we never crossed paths inside.

Dublin
We went to a bar in Bundang called Dublin for an open stage night on Wednesday. It was a pretty decent place that had Alley Kat, an Edmonton beer, on tap. The crowd was a decent size, and everyone appreciated the music. There was one knob there who tried to make friends with my dad and ended up heckling him and annoying everyone around him. Oh well, what can you do when your parents are watching?
My dad played six songs, including a duet with Kevin, the guy who runs the place. We had to leave early partly because my mom didn't want to stay up late, and partly to get away from that guy.

Lunch
Jung has been stressing out about this for a long time. We never had a wedding so this was the closest we've ever come. Jung's mom put a lot of effort into organising a lunch with all their relatives. Even Jung's sister-in-law's family showed up, despite the fact Jung's sister-in-law is in the US. Also, her brother-in-law brought her family. It was much more relaxed than it could've been, and after both Jin and my mom said it was their idea of a perfect wedding. Not much ceremony and not too lengthy.

Dongdaemoon
Last time my parents were in Korea they went to Dongdaemoon but only saw the department stores. We brought them back to show them some of the areas around outside, where I'd taken Nels and the Slackers previously. It was way too hot so we didn't make it all the way to the grey market.
Me and Annan were going to meet some of her friends from high school, whose pictures I never took. We ended up at Castle Praha in Hongdae. Jung had to meet a Korean movie producer who offered her what I consider a large amount of money for a screenplay she wrote.

Chicken
My parents and sister came over to my place and we went out for supper. They met the cats and we went to a chicken restaurant I always wanted to go to.

Family Arrives
My parents and my sister arrived at the airport around 5:45, and Jung and her mom picked them up and brought them to their hotel in wonderful Doksan. I got off work a little early and rode my scooter through the traffic, beating them all there by half an hour. The hotel is pretty nice but in a fairly isolated location not too far from a stop on line 1.
They were too worn out to do much but we went out for supper and they gave us the stuff they brought.

Hongdae
After I was done in Gwanghwamoon I rode to Hongdae to see if any of my friends were around. They weren't. I hid inside during the rain which didn't last long, then went out to take more pictures while I made sure it would be dry enough to ride home.

Gwanghwamoon
I rode my scooter to Gwanghwamoon, which was filled with people celebrating the holiday and riot cops controlling them. It was crowded and traffic was horrible.

Cat Nap
I took a few pictures of the cats being lazy and doing a mediocre job of catching a bug.

Hotel Valentine
We took a scooter ride to see the hotel my family is booked in for their visit this week. It's not in a very exciting area, but it's somewhat close to the station and it's less than ten minutes from my place.

Dawn
We woke up early in the morning on Sunday. The sun was just starting to rise so I got out of bed and took some pictures outside.

Scrabble
Everyone's been addicted to Scrabble lately because of a new Scrabble application on Facebook. Jung doesn't have an account so I pulled out the old Scrabble board.

Weird Weather
Lately we've been having strange weather. Yesterday morning we went outside and it was extremely sunny. Then the clouds rolled over, and a minute later it was sunny again. Today at lunch there was a powerful rainstorm, almost the intensity of a car wash, and then when we went downstairs for lunch it was sunny. My boss say Koreans call this "fox weather," because in Korean folklore the fox is an indecisive animal.
The pictures from this gallery are all over the place. There are a lot of sky-related pictures.
