Moving

Moving was a painful process for the cats, who had no idea what was going on, and Jung, who had to deal with the movers who kept raising the price for their services. The cats were locked in the veranda where they watched us moving everything out of the apartment. If you can spot a cat in this picture, congratulations. At the new apartment they were locked in the new veranda, and they were afraid to come out at first. Now they're settled in and enjoying the new place quite a bit.

Moving

On Saturday we went to Geumho to get the keys for our apartment and see if it needed any cleaning. By chance we ran into Mike and Gigi. Gigi lives about five minutes from us and it seems like she passes right in front of our apartment on the way to the subway station. That opens up all kinds of stalking potential. Anyway, they got to see our new apartment.

Our landlord's a bit of a douche, and said we can't have barbecues on the roof, but he didn't say anything about drinking, parties, or booking bands.

Cats and Boxes

We had to get boxes for moving, which thrilled the cats to no end. They just didn't know what was in store for them...

Chuseok

On Chuseok we went to Jung's parents' place for lunch, then went on a long, slow scooter ride home. Since Chuseok is on the lunar calendar, every year it's on a full moon. Fortunately today wasn't cloudy so the moon was clearly visible.

Stone Quarry

I've been meaning to go here for a while. It's a yard filled with giant stones located not far from the in-laws'. After the Chuseok meal we stopped by there and climbed around the rocks. I don't know what they're for, as Jung's only answer was that they're used to make gravestones for Korean children who've been killed by western pedophiles.

Cats

Millie has the strangest taste in food. Her latest craving is melon, which she would eat until her stomach bursts given the chance.

Stray Cat

This stray lives in my neighbourhood. In accordance with my long-standing rule on strays (if I photograph it on two separate occasions, I must name it) I dub this cat Jumshim.

I've been seeing this cat around for ages. She must be pretty old for a stray.

Box Cat

Any excuse to get a new box. We actually need a lot of boxes soon for moving. Millie is going to be in heaven.

Stray Cat

After work yesterday I stopped by to see if the cat had eaten my food. Two girls were feeding the cat odaeng, so I waited for them to leave before checking. The can had fallen off a ledge and landed upside down, so the cat couldn't eat it. When I turned it upright, there was a little bit that had been eaten, but otherwise it was nearly a wasted meal. I left it for the cat, and when I checked the next morning, it was upside down again, but this time only a very tiny amount of food was left in it.

I got a different can of cat food at lunch this time and I'll check back on it later.

Stray Cat

I don't normally see a lot of strays in Yatap. In fact, this may have been my first. This one was calmly people-watching from behind the safety of glass on the subway exit. I saw it while I was coming up the escalator and went back for another ride to get pictures of this cat. When I went around to get closer it hid under the bus parked there, which is a blood bank that probably won't go anywhere for a while. It looked like a good place for a cat to hide.

At lunch I bought a can of cat food and left it near where the cat had been sitting.
