Just a couple pictures of the cats from the weekend.

Bundang

As the weather had been warming up, I decided to spend more time exploring around Bundang. This lunch break, I got to the edge of the city and came back.

Insadong/Tapgol Park

We wandered around the same places as last week and drank a lot more.

Jongno Tower

Jung had to use the washroom, and I figured the best washrooms around would be in the most modern building, so we went inside Jongno Tower. While I waited, I took the elevator up to the top. I came up again with Jung to the 24th floor, but for some reason that was much more frightening than the 33rd.

Robot

Just one picture I took on the way home from work.

Millie and Buster

I don't think I've ever seen direct sunlight into our veranda before, so I took a few pictures of the cats playing around back there. This is one room that doesn't need to be photographed much.

Tapgol Park

We went to Tapgol Park just to have a look around and sit down to enjoy a beer in the warm spring weather. Tapgol Park is a historically important place as you can tell by all the statues. Usually it's supposed to be filled with old people dancing to bbongjjak music, but I guess we came at the wrong time.

Millie and Buster Art

My mom has been doing a lot of painting lately, and she sent us this painting of our cats in the mail as a surprise. It's actually taken from several other photos, but the main sources can be found here.

Downtown Seoul

Just a few quick pictures of downtown Seoul.

White Day

I thought I'd post some pictures of the typical sort of things that a Korean girl gets on White Day.

Buster's box

Buster's proud of this box he's slowly been eating every night while we try to sleep. But I'm worried. What happens to him if he's inside a box, and he eats the entire thing?

Scooter Thieves

I was woken up this morning at 7 the same way as last week: Korean boys yelling and scooters revving. When I looked down, there were two new scooters, which appeared to be from a pizza place. They were making a racket all morning, and even took their girlfriends on a joyride before bringing the scooters back. I took some pictures of the scooters and Jung called the pizza place.

The girl who answered the phone sounded young, and was acting suspiciously. Her first questions were "do you know the names of the thieves?" "did you see their faces?" Jung spoke to the manager, who was relieved to hear the location of the scooters; they were stolen. But before anyone could get them, the thieves seem to have come back and taken the scooters again.

Random pictures

While walking home, I heard cats meowing loudly. This cat was calling to another cat across the alley who didn't seem to know how to get up there.

Samia's Farewell Party

Samia's leaving for good (again) so she had a day-long going away party at Leo's restaurant Ape with Pipe. I let Brendan's daughter Zoe take most of the pictures, and when I looked through them there were a lot of good shots of people, as well as lots of pictures of her drink.

Keeping an eye out for teenagers

When Millie's on the job, I don't have anything to be afraid about.

Scooter Damage

Street crime is less common here than in western countries, but things still happen. I was woken up on Saturday morning at 5am by the sound of teenagers making a lot of noise. At first I thought they were outside our front door, but it was apparent that they were down in the street. I could hear scooter noises, and after a few seconds I realised that engine sounded familiar. Looking out the window, I could see my scooter wasn't there, but the teenagers hadn't gone far. There were no chains on my scooter, but the steering column was locked so they couldn't drive straight or turn right. They got to the end of the alley, where I went to get it back, and they ran off. It's damaged and doesn't work properly now, but probably won't be too expensive to fix.
