St. Patrick's Day Festival

I ran into Zee, as you can see from the envelope, and also her mother, who used to work at the same newspaper as me until the mid-1990s. Anyway, now her daughter has appeared in the same newspaper.

I ran into an Irish coworker who is on parental leave.

I felt like the area was a little less crowded than last year. However, I was there earlier, and they also were getting less foot traffic due to the nearby department store being closed down.

I brought along a beer made by one of my contributors that I'd been saving for a special occasion.

Looks like the Eighth Army Band. Or a bunch of vegetation on the stage.

This was the children's outfit contest.

Now the adult contest.

I had been sitting behind this woman when she was called up for the costume contest. She was surprised, and probably got third place, but I cheered for her.

It was a tough crowd.

How was this guy not on stage for the best dressed contest?

Every year, he makes it into my best St. Patrick's Day photos, and becomes the unofficial model for next year.

Then a traditional Irish conga line started.

After, I stopped by Grandma Piie to give them review copies.
